Problems with Failover

I have configure Active/Standby Failover.

I have 2 PIXes (7.2(2))connected through a failover serial cable and crossover Ethernet cable for Stateful interface.

In the primary PIX:

#sh run failover

failover

failover link statefa Ethernet3

failover interface ip statefa 192.168.192.1 255.255.255.0 standby 192.168.192.2

#sh running-config interface ethernet 3

!

interface Ethernet3

description STATE Failover Interface

speed 100

duplex full

On the secondary PIX enable failover

#failover

When the replication starts, the security appliance console on the SECONDARY unit displays the message:

"Beginning configuration replication: Sending from mate."

---- MALLOC HEADER CORRUPTED -----

dump memory

---

end Rebooting secondary PIX

any help !

Could be either a bad failover cable or a memory corruption.

Sounds like a TAC-case.

hello,

i remember reading some place that it was an issue with memory, but i am not positive

HTH, please rate it.

1. have you tested lan-based failover?

2. have you tried copying the config over manually to the secondary pix?

-> copy tftp startup (then reboot)

Hi!

Just to be sure, can you do a "show version" on both PIXes to confirm that they have same software version, same software features, same hardware (memory included) and check to see if the primary side of your failover cable (its labled) is connect to the primary PIX.
