hi,
Was wondering if anyone has used an ISDN PRI as a backup to a channelized E1 interface. the customer would like to dial all 30 channels when the channelized E1 interfaces fails as a backup.
If anyone has any input on using this as a backup solution it would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Antonios
Can you revert back whether you have multiple locations connected onto the Channelized E1 port ?
If thats the case then you can configure the ISDN PRI accordingly so that when any of the remote locations goes off then your PRI will be able to support the backup line triggerd by either the PRI end or by the remote end...

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, this customer has a point to point WAN link using all 30 channels on the channelized E1 making up the 2Mbps. They are now wanting to back this up with a seperate ISDN PRI interface that must dial all 30 channels in the event of a channelized E1 failure.
Hope it makes sense ?
Cheers

Hi,
you can use Pri as a back up to E1.
You can use the command back interface under Controllers e1.
Thanks,
Satish

Hi ,
Have you tested something like this before. ie using 30 ISDN channels to backup a 2Mbps Channelized E1 interface.
cheers
