cisco router 1721 telnet log

dear

I have cisco 1721 router. I want to check router telnet log of previous days. How can i do . pl help me

Upendra,

You have to bind an access-list to the Line vty i.e Virtual terminal telnet lines on the router with the " log " option to log the telnet records. Please see the linke below for the same:

Amit has made a suggestion about using an access list applied to the vty lines with access-class and specifying the log parameter in the access list as one way to do what you want. Depending on the version of code that you are running there may be a better option. It was introduced in 12.3T, made available in 12.2S, and incorporated into 12.4. It is enhancements to the login process and allows you to create a syslog record for every successful login (and for every unsuccessful login attempt if you wish).
