DCDirectory Crash on CM 4.1.3

Answered Question
May 27th, 2007

The Directory service on my subscriber crashed last night (this morning), I restarted the service and everything looks fine now.

But i wanted to get a second opinion if the error message below is a one time event thing or an indicator of something bad on the horizon.

I TAC'ed the error message and have yet to hear from them.

Thanks in advance.

Event Type: Error

Event Source: DCDirectory

Event Category: Database

Event ID: 7024

Date: 5/27/2007

Time: 1:00:28 AM

A checkpoint failed because of a database error, logged

already by this thread. DC Directory Server is terminating.

The error and version that you are running match a known bug:

CSCsa83128 DCD terminates during quiesce operation for backup.

There is a fix in 4.1(3) ES 18, and is rolled up into 4.1(3) SR3B, so you can just upgrade

to the latest SR that is SR5.

The workaround is to change the DC Directory to startup on failure.
