Working with CATOS on Catalyst6506, is there any way to identify between a fan-try WS-C6K-6SLOT-FAN and a WS-C6K-6SLOT-FAN2? there is?nt this code part number in the part.
Is there any catos command to identify the fan-try type?

Hi,
Try "show environment all" or "show system".

Hi Mohammed,
Thanks in advance for your help.
With the show environment all the info about fan installed is:
Fan? Model?????????????? Ver Cooling? Ambient FanStatus
???????????????????????????? capacity temp
---- ------------------- --- -------- ------- ---------
1??? WS-C6000-CL?????????? 1? 260 cfm??? -????? ok
For Cat6506 chassis I know only 2 fan-tray types WS-C6K-6SLOT-FAN and WS-C6K-6SLOT-FAN2.
What type WS-C6000-CL fan-tray is?

Hi,
You are very welcomed, try "show inventory":
Example:
Console> show inventory
NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Cisco Systems WS-C6509 9 slot switch"
NAME: "7", DESCR: "Network Analysis Module 2 port WS-X6380-NAM Rev. 0.201"
PID: WS-X6380-NAM , VID: , SN: JAB0343055Y
NAME: "8", DESCR: "1000BaseX Ethernet 8 port WS-X6408-GBIC Rev. 0.202"
PID: WS-X6408-GBIC , VID: , SN: SAD02430406
NAME: "PS 1", DESCR: "1300 watt supply AC"
PID: WS-CAC-1300W , VID: , SN: ACP03380477
NAME: "Fan 1", DESCR: "Fan 1"
PID: WS-C6K-9SLOT-FAN , VID: , SN:

Hi Luis,
I've been searching for a while for a solution for you, but i couldn't find one, "show inventory" was the best option but as you've said i've made sure that its not usable with your code.
I'll keep you updated if i found something new.
HTH,
Mohammed Mahmoud.
