hi,

i have a question about dhcp config.

i have a catalyst 4500 connected to 2 switch.

i configure vtp, and i configure 2 vlan with a different range of ip address.

i want configure dhcp.

i don't know if i must configur "dhcp pool" just in a catalyst switch,

or i configur all other switch?

Hi,

You'll need to enable DHCP on the 4500 only, enable the dhcp serivce "service dhcp" then configure the pool with all your required parameters:

ip dhcp pool Clients

network

domain-name

default-router - up to8

dns-server - up to 8

netbios-name-server - up to 8

netbios-node-type

lease {days [hours][minutes] | infinite}

hi,

thankyou very much, it's work fine.

but the device can not ping other device in other vlan.

i do "routing ip" command on catalyst, but any result.

have you an idee plz?

Have you configured the VLAN SVI's on the 4500 for all the Vlans. Once that is done you should be bale to ping the other hosts in different vlans. Configure SVI for each vlan that you want to communicate with.

Also, your SVI interface must be in UP/UP condition for rotuing to occur.
