OSPF - Single area or multiple area?

Unanswered Question

Hi All,

I am wondering for the CCNA exam, for the OSPF section is it just single-area or multiple-areas? I have heard differing information and can't see it either way on the cisco site...

I have this problem too.

Hi,

The Cisco Exam Certification Guide contains OSPF multiple Areas, its been a while since i've passed my CCNA, so i really can't remember if it is in the exam or not, but i think that you need to follow the Official certification guide, and any way it is not that detailed, its just at a glance.

Please do come back if you have further questions, and good luck in your Exam :)

HTH, please do rate all helpful replies,

Hi,

I have just gone through the Cisco CCNA page and I dont see anywhere explicit mention of OSPF, hence I would request that you should read about the OSPF Single Area Config, though the multiple Area Config is not too difficultt to learn and implement.

All the best for your exam.

Cameron, I'm pretty certain that the CCNA exam will only cover OSPF single areas. Also if you check out the boson NetSim comparison the CCNA product does not include Multi area OSPF (http://www.boson.com/AboutNetSim.html) however the concept wont be that hard to incorporate into your existing OSPF knowledge once you learn it and knock out some labs. Hope this helps, and good Luck.
