what the difference between WIC ,NM and port adapter ?

Hi,
WIC stands for Wan Interface Card eg. Serial Interface,Ethernet Interface etc...
NM - Network Module, in this you could able to insert the WIC or Ethernet card or Voice Card etc...

Hi,
Plus the information Anand has provided, i'd like to add, each router supports different kinds of interface, example Cisco 7200VXR supports only PAs, while the 2600 series supports both WICs and NMs but not PAs.
