Hi,
I have t6he following:
A Callmanager receives call and sends it to a 2801 with BRI Voice card that is connected back-to-back with a Fax server.
The BRI card is configured as network side, and the fax server is user side.
I have done this configuration many times when connecting to PBX's but here I encounter problems.
Here is a piece of the configuration.
Only the first BRI port is configured.
I am living in Europe, so no spid is needed.

Although the router is configured as network side, it can not bring up layer 2 correctly:

Does any one has an idea?

Hi,
seems like at some point the fax server stops sending RR and link drops. Can you verify the cabling (no ethernet cable must be used), and that fax server is configured for dynamic TEI?

by the way, have you used a crossover cable?

Hi
Anyone ever found a solution to this?
I have a similar setup, where an ISR2801 is connected B2B with a "brooktrout 114 card, with Faxmaker server software".
The customer experienced, that they have to place a call from isr to faxserver, before the system would work after a server restart.
Afer some test configuration changes on the ISR layer2 completely refuses to establish. both reloading ISR, rebooting server and doint "shut/no shut" on interfaces fail to improve things.
Please find config and debug in attached document.

Hi, have you ever found solution about your fax server?
I have to connect a fax server with VIC2-2BR NT/TE on a ISR3845, but i have no idea to how configure this. Can you give an example of configuration.

The problem I had was finally a problem with the ISDN card from the fax server.
You can configure the 3845 as an ordinary H323 or MGCP Gateway. Configure partitions and CSS on the callmanager and make sure the routing is correct, inbound and outbound.

Did you used crossover cable to interconnect your fax server?
Thx

I have configured my gateway ISR3845 in MGCP and i have done this conf iguration on my bri :
interface BRI0/2/0
no ip address
isdn switch-type basic-net3
isdn protocol-emulate network
isdn layer1-emulate network
isdn skipsend-idverify
line-power
but my layer 2 cannot established
have you ever had this same problem?

You are sure you are network side? Make sure that FAX server is user side.
Also you need ISDN cross cable for Cisco <-> FAX server
