Those 3 values are "Configured Rate, Normal Burst and Externded Burst".

This is how cisco recommend to configure those values

normal burst = configured rate * (1 byte)/(8 bits) * 1.5 seconds

extended burst = 2 * normal burst

Load interval command controls when input/output data will be loaded for calculation, default value is 5 minutes so yours is set to 30 seconds which means you will have more current stats when you run show interface command.

Hope it helps

Regards,

Muhammad

hi,

Muhammed has stated it right, but i tend to have Normal Burst = Externded Burst in order for the traffic to be firmly policed to the desired rate.

HTH, please do rate all helpful,

Mohammed Mahmoud.
