Route traffic based on the PORT #

Hello all,

I need to setup a rule on a router. Any SMTP traffic destined for a certain I.P address must route traffic to a certain address. The Ip Route command can route traffic based on source and destination I.P addressing, but how can I filter this traffic based on port 25 (smtp)?

Thanks

Hi,

You can do PBR (Policy Based Routing), as it is the only mean of source based routing, kindly check the following links and please do come back if you have further questions:

Hi Danny,

IP route command can only route based on destination and not source. To achieve souce based routing and based on some port nunbers also you have to configure PBR which is policy base routing.
