Hi,

I have a Cisco Call Manager 5.0(4) and UNity 4.2(1). I need to configure AutoAttendant for users calling to my pilot number. How I can configure that ? Is there anyway without using IP IVR ?

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete,

You could use a Unity Directory Handler. Have a look at the funtionality;

Directory handlers provide directory assistance in Cisco Unity that callers can use to reach subscribers. When a caller searches on a subscriber name or part of a name, a directory handler looks up the extension and routes the call to the appropriate subscriber. Subscribers must have recorded names to be accessed by using directory handlers.

Each directory handler contains settings that specify how it searches for names, what it does when it finds one or more matches, and what it does when it detects no caller input.

Hope this helps!

Rob

To Add to Rob's Note, you can even use a Call Handler and configure one of the options for caller input to re-direct it to a Directory Handler.

There was another post which discuss's using Caller System Transfer where you can even route calls to extensions which do not belong to Unity Subscribers.

Also, check the following link for information about how to configure Call Handlers

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/voice/c_unity/unity40/sag/sag405/ex/sag_0200.htm

Also, make sure that your Restriction Settings dont block these calls:

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Can you update the link of the post you are referring to. I need to do exactly that:

using Caller System Transfer where you can even route calls to extensions which do not belong to Unity Subscribers.

Thanks!

Fernando A.

A caller system transfer is just an option in the drop-down menu for caller input just as you can route to another call handlers, subscriber, etc.

Just select it to get this behavior.
