now those messages disappeared and switch information next-

3750_Core#sh switch de

Current

Switch# Role Mac Address Priority State

--------------------------------------------------------

1 Slave 000d.2975.3d80 1 Ready

*2 Master 000f.2490.af80 1 Ready

Stack Port Status Neighbors

Switch# Port 1 Port 2 Port 1 Port 2

--------------------------------------------------------

1 Down Ok None 2

2 Ok Down 1 None

Seems everythink is ok.

But before for a long time i got messages about UP and DOWN on console.

Which the reason was that messages and how to preserve against it?

Anand Narayana Tue, 05/29/2007 - 23:55

when you connect a new 3750 switch on to the existing stack of 3750, which is running live, you get the UP & DOWN message(which is NORMAL), also the master switch will verify the additionally added switches IOS version, if there is a mismatch in the IOS version, the master switch will upgrade the IOS to slave switch & then reboots the slave switch, & even that time also you get the UP & DOWN message, this process usually takes 5-10mins when you add a new switch.

rmv72 Wed, 05/30/2007 - 00:51

it was not new switch. They connected together and switch on. you can see log-

Any luck fixing this issue. I have two stacks doing the exact same issue. Only problem I have had that may not be related is all IP phones on one of the stacks have "reset" about 5 times. The phone just simply drop and come right back up like they drop the POE. Data stays connected.

you get this message continuously or it just shows in the log? because when you connect a additional switch, all these info will be in the switch log, stating the port is UP & Down, which is NORMAL.

rmv72 Tue, 05/29/2007 - 23:10

i get those messages continiously. Is't normal?

Anand Narayana Tue, 05/29/2007 - 23:12

can you connect console & tell me whether you get these messages still? if ur not getting it is NORMAL, if STILL you keep getting, then there is an issue.
