I know this might not be the smartest question ever but can I have 1 nic plugged into a router im tftp-ing to and 1 plugged into the company network at the same time? I am configing a ton of routers and want to be able to DL software at the same time from Cisco.

Thanks ahead.

Yes, You can alwys do that with two nic cards

Thats what I do now. The problem is that if Im programming a router with Con cable and a Xover cable for TFTP while I want to check something on Cisco.com using the other nic it never finds a web site because the computer doesnt know where to route the traffic.

I think the next step is a small switch.(trying not to do that)

Depending on the type of workstation you are using you should be able to control the routing, just make you standard NIC connection the default gateway.
