Hi all.I don't have much experience with firewalls but have the following question.
Can you connect PIX and ASA through a permanent link something like this:
ASA---perm. link---PIX
Can you do it like that and just assign IP addresses from the same range to achieve connectivity?

sure.
what kind of permanent link?

Not sure yet as the company that will provide the link will use it's own equipment and my company will just have to connect one end to the PIX and other to ASA.
All I know is that the link will be 10Mbits.
I just wanted to be sure it could be done like that.

if the link is 10mbps, you should be ok b/c that sounds like the hand off to either side will be an ethernet drop. neither the pix nor asa can take a wan connection (eg T1, Frame, etc..)...they only speak ethernet.

That was also my guess because I would need routers to establish a wan connection like T1,Frame etc.
Anyway thanks for all the speedy replies.
