I am using a CISCO 3550 Multilayer switch with the

IOS version 12.1(11)EA1. I am configuring

Virutal link with the following commands :

**********************************************

cisc0(config)#router ospf 10

cisco(config-router)# area 1.1.1.1 virtual-link 8.8.8.8 authentication null dead-interval 40 hello-interval 10 retransmitt-interval 5 transmit-delay 2

cisco0(config)#

********************************************

But the DUT does not make 8.8.8.8 as its neighbour. The area 1.1.1.1 is a transit area.

Kindly let me know whether any other configuration is required

A VLAN interface created by using the interface vlan vlan_id global configuration command and by default a Layer 3 interface.

Can you post a brief n/w topology?

What do you see when you do a debug ip ospf adj?

is 8.8.8.8 the router-id ? that portion of the command needs to be the router-id, not necessarily the IP address.
