Mandatory entry and force standards in CS device entry

I am trying to force device entry people to propagate one field when adding new devices, it is a User Defined field but I would like to make the input mandatory. The purpose of this field for reference is to say who is the maintainer of the switch or router and it is often missed. Also as we use the same ACS credentials I would like these to be filled in by default. Can anyone offer me some advice on this issue? For example Autofill telnet, telnet enable and SNMP RO and RW?

Making UDFs mandatory is not possible. Auto-filling in credentials is coming in LMS 3.0 (shipping this month) with a feature called Default Credentials. The way this works is that the administrator sets up a list of credentials that all devices can inherit when they are added to DCR unless specific per-device credentials are specified.
