Public wlan consult...

Hi, I'm about to buy a Cisco Aironet AP in order to buil up a wlan. Because the network will be public, i need to know how to deny any relation between the computers connected (access to shared folders, ping, map, etc...).

In other words, a network with computers thar must not have any relation between them...

How can I implement that?

sorry about my english.

If you implement layer 2 isolation this will prevent any wireless client from Communicating to any other. This feature is often used in a public hotspot situation.

Hope this helps

You would enable "Public Secure Packet Forwarding" (PSPF).

PSPF will prevent any device associated with a given AP from accessing (directly) any other associated device through that AP.

It's a checkbox in the WebGUI under the SSID screen.

It can also be enabled from the CLI, but I don't recall the command, and I don't have access to my references.

Good Luck

Scott
