I'm looking for a document at talking about IOS IPSec encryption "software encryption" limitations, throughput .... per platform

any help?

AES encryption support has been introduced in Cisco IOS? 12.2(13)T. There are no hardware based IPSEC.

Actually there are many hardware based IPSEC / encryption solutions is the cisco portfolio.

The ISR routers (all), the PIX/ASA, the older 17xx and 26xx with the appropriate modules, the 7200 with the SA, the 6500/7600 blades, these are all hardware based encryption solutions.

Note: there is not much data on software based encryption because is not adequate for any serious deployment but only the most casual low speed setup.
