Cisco 877 DSL line drops occasionally

Hi

I have a cisco 877 connected to a DSL line. The line seems to drop out occasionally. I believe that the router may well be near the max distance from the RIM but I was wondering if there was anything I could do to reduce the chance of the line dropping out. The show dsl interface atm 0 show the following

Noise Margin:0.0dB 17.0 dB

Output Power:12.0dBm 2.5 dBm

Attenuation:35.0dB 12.5 dB

My atm interface is configured as follows

interface ATM0

no ip address

no atm ilmi-keepalive

pvc 8/35

encapsulation aal5mux ppp dialer

dialer pool-member 1

!

dsl operating-mode auto

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The attenuation values are not low, but well within limits.

You only improvement hope is to use latest code that may contain more recent ADSL firmware.

Or ask and beg telco to "clean" the line or swap to a different pair. Thing that rarely they are willing to do for common subscribers.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
