I have a 7200 series router I need to do a password recovery on. When I reboot it and hit ctrl-break I still don't get into romon mode. I am using windows hyperterminal. I also tried to pull the flash out but it still boots.

Hi, I faced the same problem of password recovery on 7204 VXR with NPE-1G. I am using windows 2000 hyperteminal. I followed the procedure in the doc that I found in cisco website. it did not work. I am thinking of using another PC to try it again. Can you pls help us if you already have a solution to it.

Get something other than hyperterm , certain versions had problems issueing a control break . Go get something like Tera Term and I bet it will work .
