I have 2 6513 routers running HSRP with Tivolio management software. We are getting a message trap the as the following:
router1: NV trap 58785796 (HSRPADD_EV):HRSP 192.168.100.1 now the active interface of group 0:
Has anyone seen this before? We seem to be generating echo messages on our network.
We like to prove that there is nothing wrong with the Cisco IOS settings.

Hi
What Tivoli Netview is telling you, is that it has discovered a new HSRP interface on the router.
Here is the description of the trap from the Tivoli NetView manual:

An HSRP IP address is discovered by netmon.
Best regards
John

John,
We did find this information before I posted.
The message seems to be generating lots of packets on the interface. I was wondering how to lessen the packets.
