hi,
appreciate if someone could advise if you have encountered this before?
cat6500 is installed with power supply 1 & 2. Power supply 1 failed causes the circuit breaker to trip and cat6500 goes down. is this possible?

Hi Christina,
Whether it is AC or DC power supply and whether both supplies are from single source or Dual Source.....
If it is from single source, the short circuit one power supply might increase the load which may cause second supply also to go down.
Share some logs to decide on the same...

it is AC power supply from single source.

DO you have the specs for the power supply, there are diff power supplies, The 6500 with only 1 6000w power supply can fully operate.
Maybe your problem is that your Power Supply cant handle the load.

yes, after the power trip, detected one of the power supply failed and cat6500 is powered using the other power supply.

You need to make sure you've got big enough circuit breakers for both power supplies.

Scroll down to table 5. You should run these off 220 power with at least 16A breakers.
