Does CME support SIP endpoints?

I'm guessing the answer is NO, that CME only supports SIP trunking. Can someone tell me otherwise?

with Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express 4.1 there is SIP support for 7906G, 7911G, 7941G, 7961G, 7970G, and 7971G-GE ip phones.

Also, most third-party phones are know to work, although cisco doesn't officially support them yet.
