How should the port be configured for a connection to the 515e PIX?

Hi

If you are using layer vlan interfaces on your 4500 then just configure the port as a normal switchport and put it in the correct vlan. You should also be fine to turn on spanning-tree portfast provided you are not running the pix firewall in transparent mode.

If you are running 802.1q on the pix interface (ie logical interfaces) then you need to configure the port as a trunk.
