I am seeing very high CPU utilization on my router. I see the process IP Input using the max cpu. I do have ensured that ip cef is running and also is enabled on the interfaces, I am running 12.3 T2 Ip image. Any idea suggestions.

Hello,

is this router exposed to the internet ? Any chances you are under a dos attack ?

Please check with "term mon" and "debug ip error".

Hi

You can enable netflow on your router ethernet interface and find out whether the traffic being processed by your router is genuine.

You can achieve the same using ip route-cache flow under the ethernet interface.

Once you are done with the same use show ip cache flow to verify the traffic flow...

Using the output of show ip cache flow u can identify the traffic being processes is genuine or not ..

you can verify the below link for more info on the same..
