ive read some documentation that it is possible to attain a 56kbps speed on a v90 modem like nm-8a if the other endpoint is a digital.

now we have done such setup (router with isdn module on one end and router with nm-8a on the other end, but we did not manage to establish the connection at all.

anyone has done the same or any recommendations.

thanks.

Hi,

I found that NM-8AM (if you use that) has Microcom modem installed which does not support 56kbps V.90 but upto 33.6 kbps (V.34bis). But not that the problem.

I believe that you used NM-xB-S/T (or similar) on the other site. The problem is that the native ISDN interface solely capable to handle digital ISDN signalling and does nothing with the analogue modem signal. You have to have MICA module installed and use isdn incoming voice modem command to direct the analogue modem calls to the MICA card or use ISDN on both side.

Hope it helps, rate if does

Is mica similar to digital modems like NM-6DM?

thanks

Yes.
