hsrp between 2821 router and 3750 switch

Is it possible to do hsrp between 2821 router and 3750 switch.

Also whether we can do hsrp between two interface on the same router for link redundancy.

Hi,

According to Feature Navigator 3750 does not support HSRP.

Try bundling instead of HSRP on same router.

Hi

I think it is possible to do HSRP between 2821 and 3750.

What is the use of doing HSRP on the same device.Suppose if that device fails then u will not have any redundency.

Hi,

Yes you can, both support HSRP, kindly use the Cisco feature navigator to find the correct IOS to use:

http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp

Select "HSRP - Hot Standby Router Protocol".

But note, HSRP is applicable only if you have 2 routing devices, if only one router you can't use HSRP, here you are a post that discussed this item nicely:
