Privilege level not the same

Hi all,

We have configured a user on 1 of the PIX firewall's witch privilege level 15.

When we do a "sh run" or "sh user *****" the it shows us that the configured user has a privilege level 2 instead of 15.

When I logon with the specific user and then start the command sh curpriv I get the output below:

Username : enable_15

Current privilege level : 15

Current Mode/s : P_PRIV

Can someone explain to me what is going on and if this is normal behaviour of the PIX?

Thanx in advance.

Hi,

Most of the commands in the pix by default are run at privilege level of 15.You can refer to following document for details

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_tech_note09186a00800949d6.shtml#privilege

cheers

Sachin

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for the response, but that is not what I described. The user has still privilege level 15, but it is not visible with the described commands. Except when I login with this user, then I can se that it has privilege level 15. All the commands can be started, that is not the issue. Has anyone idees?

Hi,

Have you check the pix version u use has a bug or not?

pls rate if it helps...
