Hi,all
I have a Cisco 4507R with redundant supervisor. When I try to access the standby supervisor by the command "session module 2"through the active one,it prompts error. Then I type "session module ?" for more information,it only gives <3-7> module for choices except the No. 2 module.
I don't know why.I really hope you can share the experience with me.
Thanks a lot!

Hi
The session module command works on hybrid OS switches.where u can switch from SP to RP by issuing this commands.
If u r switch is active and running i think u cannot use the console port on the redundant SUP.
Thanks

Hi,Mahmood
I'm sorry i don't catch u.What is hybrid OS?Does it mean IOS&CatOS mix-up?
And if my switch is inactive, how can i access it through the console port?
Thanks

Hi
Yes i m saying about the catos on SUP and IOS on MSFC.
I mean to if u r having redundant SUP u can use the console of the active SUP.U cannot use the console of redundant SUP i think.
Thanks

Hi,Mahmood
Yeah,u are right.
I do use the console of the active SUP,but it doesn't work at all. That troubles me now.
The systems of two SUPs are both IOS.U know they have to be absolutely consistent so that they can synchronize correctly.
In addition, the Configuration Guide for Cisco 4500 serials says "session module 2" can work without any exception.
Thanks.
