Catalyst 3750-12S (Fiber) and server max throughput?

Let's say you have two mainframes which need to transfer data to each other.

If you put a fiber network adapter on such mainframes, what is the data rate that can flow through the fiber network adapter and switches ?

From the information below, is my understanding correct that the switch can handle up to 32 Gbps per port? Do you think the server network adapter could handle such traffic rate though?

Catalyst 3750G-12S (WS-C3750G-12S-S)

12 SFP-based Gigabit Ethernet ports

32-Gbps, high-speed stacking bus

Innovative stacking technology

1 rack unit (RU) stackable multilayer switch

Delivers enterprise-class intelligent services

Hello,

the capacity of the BUS of the switch is 32Gbps. Per port, is the standard of 1Gbps dull-duplex.. If you need more, and if your mainframes supports that, there are switches that support 10 Gbps per port. Of course, these are noticeably more expensive.

Hope this helps, please rate post if it does!
