802.1q on 10720

Im have a requirement to drop a VPN on to a sub int on a 10720. I need to encapsulate using 802.1q and put the vpn in the native vlan in order to match the connecting switch. The 10720 does not (atleast i can find no reference to) support the 'native' command in the encapsulation line. Does anyone know of any ios patch or upgrade to allow this??

Many thanks in advance

Hello,

If you configure the ip address on the main interface instead of the subinterface it will be treated as native (untagged).

Hi,

Thanks for the response.

I need to move to a sub int so I can classify packets for qos based on traffic marked by interface. The VPN must be moved to a sub int.

The only way I think of is to order another VPN, put this on the int and use as the native, move the other to another VLAN and reconfigure the switch to match, but this is a waste of time and money.
