New to 506e. Just installed. Replaced a Netgear FVS318. Cable for the internet connection. Pix 6.3(4) PDM 3.0(2). Internet is now doing a whooping 222k. Where should I start looking?

Looks like you possibly have a bad cable or a duplex mismatch. Are you hard coding the interface? (speed/duplex)

First I would look at your interfaces for errors. Post a copy of your "sh int".

Here it is:

Result of firewall command: "sh int"

interface ethernet0 "outside" is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is i82559 ethernet, address is 0013.60ac.bc3d

IP address 24.166.106.239, subnet mask 255.255.254.0

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit full duplex

262124 packets input, 110396808 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 184612 broadcasts, 51 runts, 0 giants

5921 input errors, 2796 CRC, 3074 frame, 0 overrun, 2796 ignored, 0 abort

55770 packets output, 6130659 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets

0 babbles, 0 late collisions, 0 deferred

0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier

input queue (curr/max blocks): hardware (128/128) software (0/49)

output queue (curr/max blocks): hardware (0/3) software (0/1)

interface ethernet1 "inside" is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is i82559 ethernet, address is 0013.60ac.bc3e

IP address 192.168.0.254, subnet mask 255.255.255.0

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit full duplex

88463 packets input, 8799641 bytes, 0 no buffer

Received 10697 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants

0 input errors, 0 CRC, 0 frame, 0 overrun, 0 ignored, 0 abort

102423 packets output, 110751550 bytes, 0 underruns

0 output errors, 0 collisions, 0 interface resets

0 babbles, 0 late collisions, 0 deferred

0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier

input queue (curr/max blocks): hardware (128/128) software (0/15)

output queue (curr/max blocks): hardware (5/41) software (0/1)

Lots of errors on the WAN port

Looks like you possibly have a bad cable or a duplex mismatch. Are you hard coding the interface? (speed/duplex)

Yea, I think it is a duplex problem. It was auto and now I'm trying different settings. We'll see what happens.

Thanks.
