Hello
I'm currently trying to replace a small Linksys router with a Cisco 831. The connection to the Internet is done via a Motorola cable-modem. I've ran the default install wizard of the 831, but the wan-ip stays unfortunately on "not assigned".
In the config, the interface looks like this :
interface Ethernet1
ip address dhcp client-id Ethernet1
ip nat outside
ip virtual-reassembly
duplex auto
no cdp enable
If I unplug the cable from the Cisco 831 and put it back in the wan port of the Linksys, the Linksys automatically gets the auto-ip. -> cable-modem + cable are OK.
Why does the cisco 831 is unable to receive an auto-ip from this cable-modem ?
My ISP says there is no MAC-address filtering.
Thanks in advance for help,
Kind regards,
Guy
