Recording in IPCX 4.5

Can anyone tell the configurations for recording and monitoring in IPCX 4.5...

I have this problem too.

There are two types of recording options.

1) On demand Recording(you donot require any third party solution to do that, from the supervisor desktop you can initiate recording of calls by selecting an agent)

2) Full blown recording of all calls automatically. This is where you require third party soltuion(e.g Nice, Witness and many more)

And if you want to achieve first or second you need to install or activate

1) Cisco Desktop Recording & Statistics Service

2) Cisco Desktop Recording Service

3) Cisco Desktop VoIP Monitor Service

4) Cisco Desktop Call/Chat Service (chatting with agent or agents)

And the above services needs to be up and running mode to acheive the above

Thanks for the reply.Actualy i installed CCM 5.1 with IPCX 4.5.Is it required to configure anything on switches for the recording and monitoring? and any special configurations needed in IPCX for the same?

Try this first (cisco has made Recording and Monitoring option much simpler)

Under Cisco Call Manager Phone Page option make sure you have "Span to Port" option enabled.

If this doest work as well than

Let me know the below details

What kind of switches you have? what model?

Can you paste port configuration?

You need to do local span on the ports

We r using 2960G as acccess layer switch a 3750 as a core layer switch.Is it a must to configure SPAN for recording and monitoring?

So you mean to say the first option dint work for u?

Yes spanning have to there, in order to do the recording or monitoring.

I configured IPCX for 20 agents. Can u tell me the configurations i need to do in switch, i mean the SPAN configs

If i am not configuring the SPAN on switch and i am just selecting the 'Span to port' in the phone configs page will it work?

First thing..ur not respoding the way ur should..i asked u to paste configuration of ur switch port..but anyways..

i thought that you have tried that "Span to Port" option and it dint work thats why ur asking about other option.

Go ahead and try span to port option on ccm and it should work as it worked for me in the past few occasions, and it will not cause any ill effect anywhere..i donot know why u havent done this.

try it out..else we will see other option.
