Cisco ACS Appliance takes long to boot after initial config

Hello,

I am setting up 2 ACS appliances (HW 1113, SW 4.1). After the initial configuration (IP address, admin pass etc) and reboot, the devices don't seem to start up or bring the login prompt (even after a whole night booting).

What might be the problem either with the appliance or my patience?

Hi,

If you are only getting something like starting windows from console,

Then make sure that you are using Appliance name less than 15 characters without spaces.

Regards,

Prem

Hi pbanga,

The Appliance name is 17 characters. I will reimage and rename to 14 characters. Thanks for the tip.

ACS Engine runs on Windows 2000. Windows NETBios names cannot be longer than 15 characters and hence the issue I had.
