ISDN in latest CCNA exam

Unanswered Question

Hi All,

I've noticed that my Sybex CCNA Virtual Lab Titanium Edition doesn't have any labs for ISDN. However, in my Sybex CCNA Study Guide deluxe Edition 4 there is a whole section on ISDN in the WAN chapter.

So, my questions is, does anyone know for certain whether ISDN is still part of the CCNA Exam?!

Best Regards

Matthew Bennett

I have this problem too.

For what it's worth, whether it's on the test or not, ISDN is a Good Thing to know in "real life."

It is still a popular backup circuit option for larger WANS, it's used "a lot" in VoIP (IPT-->Gateway-->ISDN PRI), credit card terminals, .... other things.

If you're hesitant to clutter your mind with things (that may be) useless for the test, then consider when you are putting your resume together, knowledge if ISDN may come in handy.

Good Luck

ISDN may not be its own tesing objective anymore, but it is still a good back up WAN technology that is still used in the real world. So, to me, it does make sense that they would move it to a WAN section.
