Connect to remote 1811. username ... doesn't exist in the config

Hi,

Mistake occurred while configuring 1811 in the remote branch. I' was not in time to add line ?username ?. privilege 15 secret ...? to Cisco config.

I?ve executed ?wr mem? and connection was dropped.

I?ve configured only

enable secret 5 ...

and

ip radius source-interface Vlan1

radius-server dead-criteria time 1 tries 3

radius-server host 10.0.5.35 auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 key xxx

radius-server host 10.0.4.30 auth-port 1812 acct-port 1813 key xxx

radius-server timeout 3

radius-server deadtime 1

but AAA was not configured yet, just only ?aaa new-model?

How can I login to the remote 1811?

I think it?s impossible and I need a person who can connect to 1811?s console.

But may be some experts can give me advices?

Hi,

Unfortunately Password Recovery is the only way.

Regards,

Prem

Thank you.

I also thought that only password recovery procedure can help me.

But I had a small hope that Cisco has some silver bullet procedure to remote recovery of forgotten passwords ;-)

:-(

We could have, if there was snmp in the config, so that we could over rite the config changes you made. But unfortunately we cannot right now.

Prem

Hi All,

SNMP was not configured on router. By the way even configured SNMP wouldn't help me.

I've asked branch staff to connect Cisco to a branch server and then I configured router.

Thanks to all.

Hi,

This is what I was talking about,

How To Copy Configurations To and From Cisco Devices Using SNMP:
