Deciphering boot message: % ATM1/0 :ILMI disabling...

I have a customer who is bothered by the boot up message "% ATM1/0 :ILMI disabling will take effect in the next interface restart" that appears on our standby 3845 whenever it is cold booted.

I have been unable to explain it to him in terms that will allay his fears.

How is the best way to describe this message?

To enable autoconfiguration on an interface, perform the following steps, beginning in global configuration mode:

Step Command Purpose

1 interface atm card/subcard/port[.vpt#]

2 atm auto-configuration

Enables autoconfiguration on the interface

To confirm that autoconfiguration is disabled for the interface, use the following EXEC command:

show atm interface atm card/subcard/port
