Hi,
I am using the "snmp-server ifindex persist" commands in ios and I am looking for the corresponding cat os command. I already checked cco but I didn't find any information about it.
Many thanks in advance,
Thorsten

Hi,
For CatOS devices, ifIndex does persist automatically for physical and VLAN interfaces, but not for EtherChannel interfaces. This feature is on by default and there is no way to turn it off. The IOS software on the MSFC does not support the ifIndex persistence. Catalyst 6000 IOS (also called native mode) supports ifIndex persistence starting from 12.1(13)E.

Hi,
thanks for the hint.
Is it further on possible to see which interface index is associated to which interface with some show command (in IOS and CatOS)?
Best Regards,
Thorsten

Hi,
AFAIK, You can copy the ifIndex-table file to an ftp/tftp server and view the content of the binary file, but i don't think that there is a valid show command.

I already tested to read the file by the more command but there is no usable output.
