Upgrade Issue

HI, I raised this a while ago but didn't get a satisfactory answer but am now back as we have our Cisco PICA access sorted from the server.

I am running Cisco LMS 2.6 on a Windows 2003 platform and am trying to get the system up to date.

So I go to common services>software centre>software update, check the check boxes and the click download updates, enter the CCO details hit next,

...and get "An unknown error has occured. Please check the log file for details"

Go to the log file and look at the entry for the job and get,

No package(s) to install for : Resource Manager Essentials

Similar issue if I try and update the packages, go to Device Update, and the only option under there is RME, which I select and click the "Updates" button, fill in the necessary, click next select all the packages, click next an select "install device packages" and then hit finish, and then get.....

"The installation of device package(s) failed.

Check Software Center > Activity Log > Event Log for details."

As a last resort I will reinstall LMS, but is there is a way to fix this without rebuilding.

Since this is Windows 2003, you probably have a bad installation. There is a bug that cannot be reliably reproduced where the default TEMP and TMP environment variables on Windows cause installation problems. You might be better off reinstalling LMS from scratch after setting these variables to something short like C:\TEMP (for both the per-user and global variables). However, the psu.log should give more details about the software failure.
