My network goes like this. VSAT -> IRGmodem -> switch(which splits two public IPs), one IP goes to a PIX 501 and the other to a 2600 router. Suddenly, i started noticing heavy timeouts (pinging outside). I have finally discovered that i get this heavy timeouts from behind the pix but i get no timeouts from behind the router, even though they go through the same gateway. When i take out the router network, i get better ping replies from behind the PIX even though still not as perfect as when the router is on the network or alone. Any idea what is wrong with the pix? I have isolated all computers and switches, but get the same problem.
