Problem with call transfer on shared line

Okay, we have 7941 phones each with a private extension number and a the second line is used as a shared line.

If I get a call to my private DN, I can then go to Corporate Directory and then find the user i want to transfer to, enter the 'transfer' option and speak to dialled user and then hit the 'transfer' button again when ready.

BUT, if I get a call on my shared line, I go the 'Corporate Directory' and dial the person I want to transfer too, it will go out my first (private) line and not give me the option to transfer.

Was wondering if there was a way around this?

If not, then I can hit the transfer button on the incoming call to shared line and browse the Corporate Directory to transfer the call but is there an option in CallManager to extend the time I have to place the call to the person I want to transfer too. If I am looking through the Directory it always times out before I have time to find the user I want.
