in eigrp between two routers, why there isnot a need for the ospf condition that hello and dead intervals must be the same at the 2 routers????????

EIGRP does not check the Hello and hold timers value to bring up the adjacency.

This might be due to the fact that these values are not carried in an EIGRP hello packet but inside the TLV fields

In ospf these values are carried out in the hello packet which needs to be same between the neighboring routers to bring up the adjacency.

I dont think there is any specific reason for this but it is the way the protocol was designed to behave

HTH, rate if it does

I believe that Narayan is correct that it is a function of how the protocols were designed. The design of OSPF requires that the hello and dead timers match while the design of EIGRP provides more flexibility and allows for mismatch of timers between the routers. It is a choice made by the designers of the protocol.
