642-522 vs. 642-523 (SNPA)

Unanswered Question

I have been studying to take the SNPA exam. The material I have been using is for the old 642-522 exam. Currently, I am able to register for either version, with the 642-522 exam going away soon. I have seen the exam topics on the Cisco site for the new exam, but I'm wondering if there is any downside if I just register with the older exam? Has anyone taken the 642-523 exam that can provide feedback?

I have this problem too.

I have the same question.

If anyone can please respond we'd really appreciate it.

I'm another in the same boat. Passed the old SNRS exam (642-502) just before it expired, so would prefer to take the newer SNPA exam to avoid the last-minute stress.

I'm guessing the new course will be focused on the version 8 software, rather than version 7. Just wish they'd come out with a new certification guide. I've got the current SNPA book and have just ordered this:

Hopefully that will cover any new topics.
