Understanding Physical Capacity on 6509

Hi

I have a 6509 and per cco, I only use gig port and I am definately over the 130 limit.

Assuming 256 or 720 backplane speed,

I haven't had any problems so far...so just wondering how Cisco reach at this 130 limit and if any one else had problems with limits.

Hi

Are you talking about GBIC gig ports and being over 130 ?

130 is the limit for GBIC ports.

384 is the limit for SFP ports

385 (apparently) is the limit for 10/100/1000 RJ45 ethernet.

I supsect 130 is derived from the fact that for GBIC connectors you can only have 16 ports in a blade so

8 x 16 = 128

+ 2 GBIC connectors on Supervisor

= 130
