Hi

I came across a formula.

Time to detect a collision = 2 x Signal Propagation time

This means that a longer network diameter will have a smaller data rate.

10 Mbps = 2500m

100 Mbps= 250m

1000Mbps= 20m

Does this mean that this is the only factor that affects speed of transmission?

what would be the others factors that need to be considered?

As you know that time is inversely proportional to frequency (in HZ). Low band width and Jitter are another factor that affects delay.
