can we add SNMP based non cisco devices in ciscoworks, and how?

you can add non-cisco devices like you would any other device, however, they won't be supported and you won't be able to use ANY of the LMS functionality with them.

they will show in DCR as unknown/unsupported devices, basically not very useful.

How can we add non cisco devices in ciscoworks.

pl give me procedure.

Add them manually to DCR under Common Services > Device and Credentials > Device Management. As Dave said, you will not be able to do much with them. The only thing that will give you any insight into these devices is the RME inventory reports.

Can i update any MIB's , actully i want to monitor wan links on non-cisco devices( i want to get e mail notification of the same )

No, the MIBs in CiscoWorks are static, and cannot be updated. What you want to do is not currently possible with CiscoWorks.
