We already tried to connect a matra PBX to a 2801 gateway (cm 4.1)
with VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE
and it's not working probably because PBX is using QSIG and BRI card basic-net3
We consider to try with FXO - FXS card
I supposed we need both cards (FXO and FXS) in our gateway for initiating calls in both direction
Many thanks in advance

Hello,
the VIC2-2BRI should swork with the matra as it supports both net3 and qsig. Please check that you need a crossed BRI cable for this connection as per this documents:
http://cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk653/technologies_configuration_example09186a008010ef6c.shtml
I reccomend you do not use FXS/FXO as it would led you to even worst results

Hi Philippe,
I wouldn't give up on the VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE quite yet :) From what I have read this module supports QSIG. Have a look at the following;
router(config)# isdn switch-type {basic-net3 | basic-qsig}
Specifies the ISDN switch type.
From this doc;
Interface Card - VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE
Signaling - Q.931 or QSIG BRI
Density - 2 ports with 2 voice channels each.
VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE
This voice interface card (VIC) is a newer version of the existing card that brings the BRI network side feature to the Cisco 1751 and Cisco 1760 series platforms. This feature allows BRI ports on the routers to act as ISDN network side. The NT interface on the router allows the customer to connect ISDN PBX and key systems to a multi-service network with a minimum of configuration changes on the PBX. This module provides -48V phantom power to PBX and key switches that require it. The Cisco IOS software replicates the public switched network interface on a PBX that is compatible with European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) Net3 and QSIG switch types.
From this doc;

Hope this helps!

EDIT: Paolo, you have highlighted my sub-par typing skills (or lack thereof) once again :)
Take care, Rob

Good morning,
I am really confused to be able to give more quickly of news but I am still waiting for a card in order to continue the test
it's a pity that we cannot find such a document for matra PABX

Don't worry, you don't need a document. I've made a qsig interconnection to a matra and works fine.
Sure, if you want to special things to the matra like tell it "all the number 6xx are on this qsig trunk made of port X and Y", you may need help from the PBX guy.

Hi,
OK so normally using QSIG it's possible.
With our first test and straight through cable bri interface was down and crossed cable becomes the interface up.
We only test with 4 wires (4,5 and 3,6) ; I thing we don't need the 4 other wires (1,2 and 7,8)
