I have a couple Cisco ISR 2801 routers running c2801-spservicesk9-mz.124-9.T3.bin IOS.

I am getting the follwing error on my ISDN calls across the (Verizon) PRI:

Cause i = 0x82E3 - Information element not implemented

I have the following configuration on my

Call Manager for the PRI:

Calling Party Presentation: Default

Calling Party Selection: Originator

Called party IE number type: unknown

Calling party IE number type: National

Called Numbering Plan: Unknown

Calling Numbering Plan: ISDN

Any suggestions on what the problem is?

82 stands for "Identified Channel Does Not Exist". This could be a telco problem with their provisioning. Can you also paste your configs on the controller and serial interface (s0/0:23 or smilar) ?

Controller config is:

controller T1 0/0/1

framing esf

linecode b8zs

pri-group timeslots 1-24 service mgcp

Serial config is:

interface Serial0/0/1:23

no ip address

encapsulation hdlc

isdn switch-type primary-ni

isdn incoming-voice voice

isdn bind-l3 ccm-manager

no cdp enable

Possibly the switch doesn't like the name IE.

On the router please do "term mon" and "debug isdn q931" to see the complete call progress.

I found the problem. I had the Call Number Plan and Calling Number Plan reversed, and the call was being sent back from the carrier.

Thanks everyone!!
